BispheraTBA Phoenix is completely renewed in the exterior design, mechanical
structure, and user interface. The footprint remained the same, but the active parts and the mainframe have been redesigned.
The excellent throughput of the new BispheraTBA Phoenix, improved than on the previous version, is based on two original MEI concepts. The winning system of two edging heads cutting two lenses at the same time has been improved with a second spindle on each head; the new spindle is equipped with the tools necessary for the polishing process and comes to action only in case of polished jobs, without tool change.
With the MEI concept of double arms manipulator, all loading and unloading operations take place while the edging is in progress without affecting the machine throughput.
All the pick-up devices and lens holding systems have double grippers to improve the machine throughput and keep pace with the fastest cycle time. Even with the most complex progressive lens requiring several optical measurements, the inspection cycle
time does not overcome the edging cycle.
In order to offer you great flexibility, the left and right edging heads of the new BispheraTBA Phoenix are now totally independent, to be able to cut in parallel also jobs having the two lens shapes really different or to mark disparate logos on the lens
with the engraving tools.
The classic Bisphera tool changing system that allows adding tools with special profiles, provides the flexibility needed for the special jobs and engraving features.
Edging is just one part of the RX lens mounting process. Making sure that your customer receives the quality they deserve requires several inspection processes, before and after edging. This impacts labor costs, work space and delivery time, but this was before the BispheraTBA Phoenix.
The BispheraTBA Phoenix performs all needed quality inspection tasks without increasing the edging cycle, analyzing 100% of the production, minimizing the rejects and automatically applying the needed correction.
