For over 20 years, Optiswiss has been dedicatet to responsible and sustainable lens production. Optiswiss (Corporate Social Responsibility) has now been recognized for its ongoing commitment, receiving two CSR labels in October 2024.
Social and environmental responsibility in lens production has been a long-standing priority in Basel. The company also focuses on energy efficiency in its operations and production processes. For example, heat from the coating facilities is repurposed to provide hot water and heating for buildings, conserving both water and energy. Since the beginning of 2024, Optiswiss has sourced 100% renewable energy from Swiss providers for lens production. Through a new procurement policy and structured material inventories, the company has further reduced its carbon footprint. Alongside environmental protection, the well-being and equality of employees are also important to the company's philosophy.
In recognition of these quality initiatives, Optiswiss was awarded the “RSE-Engagé” (CSR-Engaged) and “Responsibility Europe” (with a “Confirmed” status, earning two out of three stars) after an official review and evaluation. These labels underscore Optiswiss's continuous commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Going forward, Optiswiss aims to continually improve as an independent lens manufacturer, committed to sustainable growth alongside its customers, partners, society, and the environment.
