For four years, he experimented with filtering, installing, sedimenting, spinning, heating, stirring, and electrically charging — a journey of trial and error in search of a breakthrough. Finally, he found the "clarifying idea": electrolysis.
The principle is relatively simple, highly ecological, and very economical compared to systems currently on the market. Suspended particles, estimated to be just a few micrometers in size (2–8 µm), are so light that they don’t settle naturally. Only when they clump together do they become heavy enough to sink on their own.
