Munic Eyewear is a German company headquartered in Munich. It was founded in 1991 by the designer and CEO Marcus Riess and is now managed by the couple Ari and Marcus Riess. In these days of inferior mass production, people yearn for products that have a handmade feel and have been produced with special care. At munic, we define sustainability as reducing, reusing and recycling. Therefore, we try to keep the amount of waste created when we ship our products to the bare minimum and avoid the use of unnecessary outer packaging in a volume-optimized process. And … our packaging is completely plastic-free ! To prevent our frames from being scratched during shipment, we use foil bags made of cellulose that is produced from renewable raw materials. The wrapping paper is made of environmentally friendly paper. The shipping packaging is made of raw cardboard, which is sourced entirely from producers of recycled material. In addition, no chemicals are used to brighten them optically. The adhesive tape is free of plastic and silicone, is made of 100% ecological paper, has water-based ink and environmentally friendly natural rubber glue. All of our packaging materials are 100% recyclable. We printed this brochure on recycled paper and even compensate for the CO2, inevitably generated in production by supporting a climate protection project “collecting plastic waste“.
