2,500 students, 64 professors and latest research topics in the fields of computer science and media, technology and business: Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences (THB) is a young, modern university located on the outskirts of Berlin, which provides an excellent learning environment.
Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences is a state university of applied sciences with a green campus at the site of Brandenburg's historical origins: Brandenburg an der Havel. Open to the world, regionally anchored and at the same time internationally networked, our departments organise high-quality, application-oriented teaching and interdisciplinary research.
At opti, we will mainly be presenting our Bachelor's degree programme ‘Optometry / Optical Device Engineering’ (B. Eng.) and our Master's degree programme ‘Photonics’.
Our bachelor's degree programme in Optometry / Optical Device Engineering is run in cooperation with the Brandenburg Guild of Opticians and Optometrists, based in Rathenow, the ‘City of Optics’. We are the only degree programme in Germany to combine an engineering degree with a training in crafts and optometry. The degree programme can be individually designed on a full-time, part-time or dual basis. On completion of the programme, you will be awarded both the Bachelor of Engineering and - if you pass the examination at the Chamber of Crafts - the master optician qualification and, if applicable, the optometrist qualification (HWK).
The Master's degree programme in Photonics intensifies the understanding of the connection between optics and electronics as well as the importance of the quantum nature of light in order to understand optical technologies and optical components across disciplines. The degree programme is offered in cooperation with the TH Wildau and even enables a double degree with the University Tor Vergata II in Rome.
We also offer exciting and innovative degree programmes in other areas of technology, computer science and business. If you are interested, please ask at our stand in the opti Campus area in Hall C3, Stand 376D.
