In-house recycling, 100 % independence, 100 % circular economy, zero waste

As a result of our ongoing commitment to running our company as sustainably as possible, we were nominated for the German Sustainability Award and were even a finalist. This was based on our use of raw materials such as cellulose acetate. True recycling, zero waste and all in-house.

We started recycling our acetate offcuts over 8 years ago. At a time when no one had even thought about it. 

What is absolutely unique about our process is that it is all done in-house. The acetate waste is not shipped halfway around the world - NO!  Not with us!

We are able to carry out the entire recycling process in-house - there are no shorter routes!
In addition, the recycled material is immediately re-manufactured into frames in our own eyewear factory - so the whole cycle takes place in-house. 

A smaller carbon footprint is impossible.

Even the small chips from the milling process are turned back into 'new' recycled material.

How is that possible? ... is a common question.

It is made possible by machines specially designed for this process, which we were able to purchase and which are located in our factory. We also have the expertise to do it, having been given it by one of the biggest experts in the world acetate market.  

We are proud to say that we have achieved an almost 100% circular economy as a manufacturer and brand. This is unique in Germany, if not in Europe, if not worldwide.

If something is 100% recycled, the surface will not be 100% perfect. This is because we know that recycling is real and that our products have a second, third or even fourth life. 

The slight differences in colour between our recycled boards are natural and a sign of authenticity.

Our recycled material is unique, as is our eyewear.
