Gudd-Zweck UG cooperates with opticians, ophthalmologists, eye clinics, pharmacies, schools, churches, associations, administrations and companies from all sectors in the aid projects BRILLEN-ohne-GRENZEN and Gudd-Zweck 7+1 collection campaigns.
Gudd Zweck UG offers all cooperation partners (opticians, ophthalmologists, eye clinics, pharmacies, schools, associations, administrations, companies from all sectors) to jointly "rescue" as many used spectacles an new spectakle frames as possible, so that they can be sorted, cleaned, measured and temporarily stored in the 4 spectable recycling centres in Saarland until they are handed over or sent to poor counztries where many visually impaired people are unable to afford spetacles and glasses.
Support with "rescued" spetacles is also a question of "educational justice", because if arround 40% of people in poor Countries are visually impaired, it is not for lack of intelligence that they fail to contribute to their own economy, but only for lack of spectacles.
The world can´t really afford to do without so many "fellow thinkers" just becuase they can´t see the blackboard, book pages or laptop screens at school or at work and therefore can´t read or understand.
For these people, glasses are the key to participating in school, professional and private life.
All companies in the optical industry in rich countries have a "moral duty" to do something at some point and actively participate in supplying poor countries with glasses that ar no longer needed.
"You owe it to those who do not have them tu use the powers you have."
