The smart choice for young eyes: OPTISWISS presents SMYLE, an innovative 360° concept for professional myopia management. A completely newly developed lens design is combined with precise measurement and analysis technology from OCULUS and comprehensive marketing support.
The innovative lens design and wide variety of materials
The SMYLE (Swiss Myopia Lens Experience) lens design incorporates essential features from years of research by the renowned Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI), has been precisely tailored to their specifications and the technology has been officially licensed. SMYLE lenses offer the best vision at all distances thanks to the central fully correcting zone. This is followed by the technology zones, the special feature of which is that the arrangement is adapted to the natural asymmetry of the retina. With the peripheral defocus, eye growth can be demonstrably slowed down and accommodation can be supported at the same time with the integrated addition. SMYLE FreeForm technology also has the advantage that the lenses are indistinguishable from normal single vision lenses and are available in a wide range of materials and also as a sun protection variant.
Proven to reduce myopia progression in European study
In a large-scale double-blind study, a significant 39% reduction in myopia progression was demonstrated compared to conventional single-vision lenses. The participating children aged between 5 and 12 also reported high visual acuity and visual comfort.
Measuring technology & analysis software
For the perfect support process for young clients, the cutting-edge Myopia Master® measurement technology from OCULUS offers everything you need for professional myopia management, including precise refraction and eye length measurement, analysis software and well-founded recommendations for action.
Comprehensive support and target group-orientated approach
In addition to the product and measurement technology, a whole range of support materials will also be available from now on. From 2025, young people will also be addressed with new, selected materials.
Explicit attention will be paid to ensuring that the brochures address the respective target groups in the best possible way and that the playful component is not neglected in the children and young people to be supplied. A comprehensive training concept consisting of webinars, in-house training courses and tutorials round off the holistic product launch. ‘SMYLE combines sound research findings, precise measurement technology and a product that, if used responsibly, can offer real added value in the fight against high myopia development,’ says Johannes Schubart, Head of Global Marketing, Product Management & Tools.
