MASUNAGA OPTICAL is one of Japan's largest, most authentic, and leading eyewear manufacturers. With a history dating back to 1905, the company was the driving force behind the development of the optical industry in Fukui. Today in the spotlight our bestsellers GMS128T and IMAGINIST.
Bestseller GMS-128T
GMS-128T is an all-metal frame in panto shape. The bridge features a unique design with a pressed milgrain pattern and is split into two by the rim. The temples have a smooth touch and have details like a fountain pen. This combination of classic and modern elements makes the frame attractive.
Bestseller IMAGINIST
The smart and refined IMAGINIST is a brow type frame with all-metal construction. The combination of metal parts in different color enabled IMAGINIST to acquire contrast and different color textures. The one-piece brow design gives the frame a streamlined form. The lens shape features a distinctive straight line around the endpiece. The endpiece, secured from the back with screws, is both decorative and functional. These detailed designs enhance the frame’s rich appearance.
Japanese expertise
As many as 200 manual processes are involved in making a Masunaga frame. Masunaga Optical is a prime example of Japanese expertise; It is the only company in Japan that has a factory in charge of all processes from raw materials to production and finish in an integrated way. This integrated production system improves the detail and quality.
Meticulous craftsmanship is evident in the countless steps of the manufacturing proceedings. Masunaga does not rush the process. No shortcuts are taken; no compromises are made in the creation of each frame. Featuring beautifully hand polished Japanese acetate, high grade titanium, durable seven barrel hinges, distinctive silver rivets, Masunaga since 1905 collection confirms what Masunaga Optical has achieved over the past century.
