40 years ago, an eyewear brand was born with the aim of offering something new. Unique eyewear from Austria that stands for regionality, colourfulness and joie de vivre, combining unusualness and subtle extravagance in equal measure.
The colours and materials are inspired by their origins, the beautiful landscapes of the Salzkammergut and its fauna. Each frame should be unique and tell a story. Their original design language is intended to embrace and flatter the wearer's eyes, just as the mountains around Bad Goisern do with the crystal-clear waters of Lake Hallstatt. As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, a very limited edition Johann von Goisern Limited has been created.
‘We asked ourselves: What is as emotionally anchored in the Salzkammergut as our glasses have been from the very beginning?’ smiles Hans Peter Pomberger. The answer was quickly found for the Johann von Goisern design team: Salt.
It has been mined here underground for centuries. When light hits the salt crystals, they glow in their multifaceted colour tones and are so beguiling that they attract curious glances. Just as Johann von Goisern has done from the very beginning. ‘It was precisely this wealth of colour that we wanted to incorporate into our materials specially designed for the JvG Limited. The result is a feast for the eyes, with a historical background from our region,’ says Rosa Linda Lichtenegger from the design team, visibly proud.
The two models each contain 5 frames, each with its own personal story. The JvG Limited is limited to 1440 pieces worldwide and will not be produced again. Each pair of glasses is numbered by hand by the design team and delivered in an elegant box, which is also designed and manufactured in the Johann von Goisern production facility.
