Trainees and trainers can keep the obligatory report booklet in digital form and benefit from several additional functions - especially for opticians.
Even if the training contract is still in paper form, nothing prevents from switching to the digital version of the report booklet: a corresponding form for the change is available for download on the homepage.

The report booklet is the diary of the training - and documents what content has actually been taught up to the examination. The completed report booklet must be available for admission to the journeyman's examination. The digital report booklet and the associated app from the Central Association of Opticians and Optometrists (ZVA) have been available since 2022. Trainees can download the app free of charge from the relevant app store on their smartphone and make entries. The report booklet can also be kept on other mobile devices or via www.berichtsheft-augenoptik.de on a PC. Companies can use a corresponding link to conveniently check the digital report booklet on screen and sign off the weekly and technical reports. A PDF document is generated for checking. The first two pages of the PDF are printed out and attached to the application for authorisation in paper form. The examination board can view the original report booklet on the ZVA server using the access data contained therein.
And this is how it works:
Trainees can download the report booklet app for optometry free of charge from the relevant app store onto their smartphone and other mobile devices, or register at www.berichtsheft-augenoptik.de. The report booklet can be kept on the PC in the company and on mobile devices.
The training company registers and orders the connection to the trainee's report booklet at www.berichtsheft-augenoptik.de, thereby activating the function of the system.
Costs for guild companies:
45 euros for all three years of training
(16.50 euros for one year).
Non-guild companies:
90 euros for three years of training
(33 euros for one year).
